OWBA attempts to inform companies and organizations about significant developments in the Ward that may be of interest to, or have impacts on, local business.
The City of Ottawa has received a Zoning By-law Amendment for the purpose of rezoning the lands from Rural Commercial Subzone 4 (RC4) to a General Mixed Use Zone (GM) with site-specific exemptions. A Site Plan Control application has also been received for the construction of commercial, hotel, and parking uses.
The proposed redevelopment is for the construction of four (4) new commercial and hotel structures located around the edges of the site, a central parking area, and the demolition of the existing structures. A 1,881.8m2 retail hardware store, with a 1,115m2 drive through facility and a garden centre are proposed for the southwest of the site. A 2,114m2 hotel is proposed for the northeast corner of the site. Two additional commercial buildings with gross floor areas of 493.5m2 and 502.2m2 will be located in the northeast and southwest corners of the site. The site will contain 280 parking spaces, 18 bicycle parking spaces, and can be accessed via Bank Street or Dun Skipper Drive.
Detailed application documents are available on the City of Ottawa website.
